02Documented history
03Origin & word formation
A use of color contrasts from CORTIS's song 레드레드 as an everyday expression. MBC explains green as the direction the song moves toward and red as what it moves away from. Kyunghyang Shinmun reports the use of 그린그린 and 레드레드 for positive and negative reactions. The first person and date of conversational use have not been verified.
Evidence for the origin explanationMedium
Two reports support the song's color metaphor and its catchphrase use. The earliest-source date refers to material introducing the song or album; the catchphrase usage is documented in the June 4, 2026 article.
