- May 2024The same newsletter wrote that the more people in an organization are called ‘월루’ (short for Salary Lupine), the lower the employees’ motivation and loyalty to work.[1]
03Origin & word formation
Short for 월급 루팡. A Jipyong law-firm newsletter explicitly expands it and says 월급 루팡 appeared in the National Institute of Korean Language's 2012 basic new-word report. The original 2012 report was not checked directly.
Evidence for the origin explanationMedium
The expansion as 월급 루팡 is explicit. Inclusion in the National Institute of Korean Language's 2012 new-word list is a secondhand claim that needs checking against the original.
